BEKASI — Aldi (32) and Feny (32) were forced to urgently source catering services and contact vendors one by one after their wedding reception was reportedly jeopardised by wedding organiser (WO) Marwah.

The Bekasi, West Java, couple said they began preparing for the worst as the reception was set to take place the following day.

“The makeup artist is willing to attend, the MC is willing, the hairdresser is willing, and the attire is already paid for. Only these four can attend,” Aldi said at the East Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters on Sunday (24 May 2026) evening.

Aldi said he and Feny started contacting vendors directly after learning that the Islamic Centre Bekasi venue had not been paid by WO Marwah as of the day before the event.

At the same time, both families were also scrambling to find food for guests attending the marriage ceremony.

“From the Islamic Centre, knowing we were victims, they provided facilities for the ceremony for one to two hours. Alhamdulillah, it still went ahead,” Aldi said.

Although the ceremony took place on Saturday (23 May 2026), the couple’s wedding reception was described as chaotic.

The venue management confirmed that WO Marwah had only paid a deposit of Rp 6 million, with the remaining Rp 17.5 million still outstanding.

“After hearing from the Islamic Centre, I immediately informed Marwah in the group chat. ‘Why hasn’t the payment been made?’ They said, ‘Yes, I’ll pay soon, just wait,’” Feny said.

However, the venue payment remained unresolved a day before the event.

Aldi and Feny then visited WO Marwah’s warehouse and office in Rorotan, North Jakarta, on Friday (22 May 2026).

“We went to their warehouse in Rorotan. Arrived at half past eleven. His wife, Eka, was there. We asked for an explanation. Her reasons were vague. Basically, ‘will pay later, will pay later’. Even on the day before, there was no payment,” Aldi said.

According to Aldi, the WO had promised to pay after the deposit was cleared, but no confirmation was received by nightfall.
