The Bekasi City Environmental Agency (DLH) recorded a total waste production of 3,677 tonnes during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah period, from 19 to 23 March 2026. The head of the Bekasi City DLH, Kiswatiningsih, stated that all the waste had been transported by officers to the Sumur Batu Final Disposal Site (TPA) in Bantargebang. Kiswati assured that preparations had been made prior to the Lebaran period, including the readiness of field cleaning personnel. “We guarantee that no waste will be left uncollected by officers on the night of Takbiran and Eid day,” she said. The DLH has instructed all regional technical implementing units (UPTD) for cleanliness at the sub-district level to be fully on standby during the Lebaran period. “Waste collection itself will be carried out periodically from 18 March to 24 March,” she added. She further explained that waste collection would be focused on vital points in the Bekasi City area, such as shopping centres, markets, residential areas, and other high-activity locations. In addition, the DLH is conducting intensive monitoring at several points prone to waste accumulation, especially at locations that become centres of community activity from the night of Takbiran to Eid day. “We have also prepared backup fleets to ensure that the collection process runs optimally if there is a drastic increase in waste volume in the field,” she clarified. “We hope that public awareness also increases, so that these waste handling efforts can run maximally,” she concluded.
