BEKASI - A trial of a portal on Cipendawa Road in Bekasi will be implemented starting 13 April 2026 as an effort to regulate traffic and restrict large-dimensioned vehicles in the area.

This policy was announced by the Bekasi City Transportation Department (Dishub) through its official Instagram account, @dishubbekasikota.

In the announcement, Dishub stated that the installation of the portal is intended to improve orderliness and the smoothness of traffic flow, particularly during rush hours.

“In order to organise traffic and control large-dimensioned vehicles, the Bekasi City Transportation Department will conduct a trial installation of a barrier portal on Cipendawa Road, Bekasi City,” wrote Dishub.

This policy refers to the Mayor of Bekasi’s Decree Number 500.11.6/Kep.549-Dishub/IX/2025 regarding the restriction of operating hours for large-dimensioned vehicles.

Transjakarta vehicles and garbage trucks are exceptions and can still pass through the left side of the portal.

The portal trial will be enforced during two time periods each day, namely:

The maximum height of the portal is set at 3.2 metres, so vehicles taller than that cannot pass during those hours.

“We urge all road users, especially large-dimensioned vehicles, to adjust their operating times and travel routes in accordance with the applicable regulations,” wrote Dishub.

This policy is expected to create safer, more orderly, and smoother traffic in the Bekasi City area.
