Bekasi Timur Station, West Java, is once again serving passengers today, Wednesday (29/4/2026). KRL services on the Bekasi-Cikarang line are confirmed to return to normal from 2:00 PM WIB. Previously, Bekasi Timur Station was temporarily closed from Monday (27/4/2026) night until Wednesday (29/4/2026) morning, following a KRL and Argo Bromo Anggrek accident on Monday (27/4/2026) night. Anne stated that the CL-125.4008 test train set had passed through Bekasi Timur Station at 11:55 AM WIB as part of testing the line’s readiness. With the reopening of Bekasi Timur Station and the normalisation of KRL services on the Bekasi-Cikarang line, it is hoped that public mobility can run smoothly again, especially for KRL users in the Bekasi, Cikarang, and surrounding areas. KAI also expressed thanks for the patience and understanding of customers during the handling and recovery process. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) assures that all stages of service recovery are being carried out gradually, measurably, and with a principle of caution. KAI emphasises that safety aspects are the top priority in every handling and operational recovery process. All processes have undergone thorough inspections to ensure the safety and security of train journeys as well as the comfort of service users. Of that number, 43 passengers have been allowed to go home, while the rest are still receiving treatment in hospital. “We extend our deepest condolences to all victims and the families left behind. Our current focus is to ensure that all victims receive the best care and that families obtain the information they need,” said Anne. KAI also assures that victims’ belongings found at the scene will be inventoried and returned to families gradually through a coordinated mechanism. To support information needs, KAI has set up a post at Bekasi Timur Station to assist victims’ families. A post has also been set up at Gambir Station to serve long-distance train customers affected, including the ticket refund process.
