PT KAI Commuter Indonesia (KCI) has announced that Bekasi Timur Station is now serving KRL passengers again. This follows operational trials that proceeded smoothly. After various trial stages, KRL services on the Bekasi-Cikarang line resumed operations from 13:59. KCI ensured that all service recovery stages were conducted gradually, measurably, and with a principle of caution. KCI emphasised that safety aspects are the top priority in every handling and operational recovery process. All processes underwent thorough inspections to ensure the safety and security of train journeys as well as the comfort of service users. VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Karina Amanda, stated that from 13:59 WIB, KRL No. KA 5538 Commuter Line Cikarang from Kampung Bandan to Cikarang and KRL No. 6031 departing from Cikarang Station at 14:08 WIB became the first Commuter Lines to pass through this route. With the reopening of Bekasi Timur Station and the normalisation of KRL services on the Bekasi-Cikarang line, it is hoped that public mobility can run smoothly again, especially for KRL users in the Bekasi, Cikarang, and surrounding areas. Karina also explained that the evacuation process for Commuter Line Cikarang No. 5168A is still ongoing. Currently, the KRL facility has been moved to the side of track 1 at Bekasi Timur Station. “After trials and evaluations of journeys at Bekasi Timur Station, and all safety aspects declared fulfilled including clearance results from the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT), that line can once again serve Commuter Line journeys,” Karina stated in her written remarks.
