PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has assured that the supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to the public in the Bekasi area remains secure following the fire incident at the Bulk LPG Filling Station (SPBE) owned by PT Indogas Andalan Kita. According to Pertamina, the fire that occurred on Wednesday (1 April 2026) around 9:00 PM WIB was successfully extinguished early on Thursday (2 April 2026). Area Manager for Communications, Relations & CSR in the JBB Region of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Susanto August Satria, explained that the company has activated the Regular Alternative Emergency (RAE) supply scheme to maintain smooth LPG distribution. Current LPG supply needs have been redirected to three nearby SPBEs in the vicinity. “The RAE scheme has been prepared with support from the nearest SPBEs, namely SPBE PT Kenrope Sarana Pratama, SPBE PT Pacific Sumber Segara, and SPBE PT Dharma Wira Sentosa,” said Susanto in a written statement on Thursday (2 April 2026). With these alternative supply points in place, the company urges the public to remain calm and avoid excessive purchases or panic buying. Regarding the fire incident, the company has expressed apologies and appreciation to the Firefighting Teams of Bekasi City and Regency, as well as the TNI and Police, for their swift action in extinguishing the fire and securing the perimeter, preventing further impacts. Currently, the company’s primary focus is on post-incident handling. The company has instructed the SPBE management to provide the best handling for the victims and to optimally address complaints from affected communities. “The follow-up focus is on post-incident handling, including ensuring the safety of the surrounding community, handling affected victims, and SPBE workers. Data on the number of victims is still in the process of being compiled,” he added. To date, the exact cause of the fire incident is still under further investigation by Pertamina along with the relevant authorities.
