Bekasi – Bekasi Mayor Tri Adhianto has asked the public to be patient while waiting for the road repair process in Bekasi, which was delayed ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2026.

According to Tri, the delay was influenced by several factors, including frequent rainy weather and a shortage of labourers.

“I also ask the residents to be patient. Because the situation is still the rainy season. Secondly, many workers have not yet returned,” said Tri when met at the Bekasi City Hall Plaza on Monday (30/3/2026).

“We want to go full speed ahead. So hopefully, if the weather is good, we can move faster,” he added.

Tri stated that several road sections deemed dangerous had already been repaired before the Eid al-Fitr 2026 homecoming traffic.

“We have prioritised those that are truly dangerous, such as on Jalan KH Noer Ali, Cipendawa, in front of Pakuwon, and Ahmad Yani,” he said.

He also added that road repairs in the Kalimalang area have begun.

Previously reported, the Bekasi City Public Works and Water Resources Department (DBMSDA) has allocated a budget of Rp 17 billion for road maintenance and repairs.

Sub-Coordinator for Road Maintenance at Bekasi City DBMSDA, Ridwan Muarief, said the budget comes from the Bekasi City APBD.

“For roads to be repaired in preparation for the Eid al-Fitr homecoming, there are a total of 22 segments,” said Ridwan.

He explained that the road repair process was hampered by weather factors and drainage conditions at several points.

Ridwan said DBMSDA is also continuing to coordinate with the central and provincial governments regarding road repairs outside the authority of the Bekasi City Government.

“For national and provincial roads, we are still communicating with the national and provincial road agencies to carry out road repairs,” said Ridwan.
