Bekasi — A resident of Teluk Pucung Village, North Bekasi District, Bekasi City, Lely R (33), has requested assistance from West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi to be repatriated from Morocco to Indonesia.

Lely stated that she is currently sheltering at the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Morocco after departing for work in the country through a suspected unlicensed labour recruitment agency.

“I apologise, Governor Mulyadi. I know I made a mistake. But please help me with my return ticket. I also ask for assistance with clearance and verification because the KBRI needs government support to send me home,” Lely told Kompas.com on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

“I am only asking for help coordinating with the KBRI in Morocco so they can prepare my departure letter. I hope this becomes a lesson for everyone. The labour agency should also be investigated,” she said.

Amid her predicament, Lely expressed longing for her toddler still in Indonesia.

“I really want to meet my child. My child is only 1.5 years old. Please see this resident of Bekasi who is asking for help, Governor Mulyadi. Please help me, Governor Mulyadi,” she pleaded.

Lely’s story went viral on social media after she posted a plea to Bekasi City Government for assistance in returning from Morocco. According to her posts, she has been sheltering at the KBRI in Morocco since Saturday, 14 February 2026.

When contacted by Kompas.com, Lely explained that she travelled to Morocco for work after discovering an overseas employment opportunity through a Thread account @bjulie46_id. She was attracted to the offer because of her difficult economic situation as a single parent responsible for her family.

After finding the vacancy, Lely contacted the account that posted the job information. She was then directed to communicate with a Moroccan man with initials Y to conduct an interview with the prospective employer in late December 2025.

Following the interview, Lely received a ticket on 14 January 2026 with a departure date of 18 January 2026.

According to Lely, she was previously promised that all required work documents would be arranged by the agency she had contacted through social media. Documents such as identity cards were stated to be prepared after her arrival in Morocco.
