A resident of the Royal Cikunir housing estate in Jakamulya, South Bekasi, West Java, named Lukman, has reported a case to the police after his house was vandalised following a dispute over noisy exhausts at a nearby workshop. Lukman is also facing a police report for allegedly striking the workshop owner.

“Witnesses and his child approached the workshop owner and carried out an assault against him. While the workshop owner was preparing to file a report at the South Bekasi Police Sector, his associates launched an attack and vandalised the complainant’s house without his knowledge,” stated the Bekasi City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Putu Kholis Aryana, to journalists on Thursday (1/10/2026).

The act of vandalism went viral on social media. In the circulating video, the homeowner can be seen relaxing and chatting on his terrace. Shortly thereafter, a group of individuals arrived, forcing the house gate to fall and proceeding to cause damage.

“The incident began when the witness and his child felt disturbed by the loud noise coming from the motorcycle workshop,” he added.

Both police reports are currently being processed. The homeowner has reported the property damage, while the workshop owner has reported the assault.
