Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara stated that he was unaware of a house belonging to one of the witnesses in the alleged corruption case involving him being burned by unidentified individuals.

“I don’t know. Which witness? I don’t know,” said Ade after undergoing examination as a suspect in the alleged bribery for project ijons and receipt of gratifications at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4) night.

On that occasion, Ade claimed there was no flow of money to PDIP Central Executive Board Chairman Ono Surono, who is also the Deputy Chairman of the West Java Provincial Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD).

The KPK received information that one of the witnesses in the case had been intimidated, with their residence allegedly burned by unidentified persons.

“True, in the Bekasi project ijons bribery case, the KPK received information that one witness was intimidated by certain parties,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo when confirmed via written message on Wednesday (8/4).

“The information we received is that their house was even allegedly burned,” he added.

Budi added that the KPK is currently coordinating to ensure the witness receives protection from the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK).

The KPK has conducted numerous examinations of witnesses, both from the Bekasi Regency Government and private sector parties.

In this case, the KPK has named three individuals as suspects.

They are Regent Ade Kuswara; the Head of Sukadami Village, Cikarang Selatan Subdistrict, H.M. Kunang, who is also the father of Regent Ade Kuswara; and businessman Sarjan.

Of the three suspects, only Sarjan’s case is currently being examined in the Corruption Court (Tipikor). The KPK still requires time to complete the case files for Ade Kuswara and H.M. Kunang.

Ade Kuswara and H.M. Kunang, as bribe recipients, are charged with violating Article 12a or Article 11 and Article 12B of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) first of the Criminal Code, as well as Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of the UU Tipikor in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) first of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, Sarjan, as the bribe giver, is charged with Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of the UU Tipikor.

Sarjan is accused of bribing Regent Ade Kuswara with Rp11.4 billion to secure work packages for the 2025 Fiscal Year.

Sarjan is the Director of PT Zaki Karya Membangun and owner of CV Mancur Berdikari, CV Barok Konstruksi, CV Lor Jaya, CV Singkil Berkah Anugerah, and PT Tirta Jaya Mandiri.

The alleged bribe money was given through intermediaries: Rp1 billion via H.M. Kunang.

Then, Rp3.3 billion to witness Sugiarto, Rp5.1 billion to Ricky Yuda Bahtiar alias Nyai, and Rp2 billion to Rahmat bin Sawin alias Acep.

In addition to Ade Kuswara, prosecutors state that Sarjan is also suspected of giving money to other parties, including officials in the Bekasi Regency Government environment.
