Bekasi Regency Government Strengthens Synergy with Industry to Safeguard Jobs and Investment

CIKARANG SELATAN - Acting Regent of Bekasi Dr. Asep Surya Atmaja, accompanied by Head of the Manpower Office Ida Farida, conducted a working visit to PT Enkei Indonesia in the Hyundai Industrial Estate, South Cikarang, on Tuesday (23/06/2026). The visit is part of the Bekasi Regency Government’s efforts to maintain a stable business climate and ensure that companies operating in the region can continue to absorb labour while minimising the risk of workforce reductions amid global economic uncertainty. During a meeting with company management, Asep Surya Atmaja emphasised two key priorities for the local government: retaining the existing workforce and providing employment opportunities for Bekasi residents should new positions become available. ‘We ask PT Enkei Indonesia to retain its workforce and avoid any layoffs. Furthermore, if there is a need for additional workers, we hope the company will give opportunities to local residents of Bekasi Regency,’ he stated. Asep noted that the current global economic conditions are impacting several industrial sectors, potentially affecting employment levels. Therefore, the Bekasi Regency Government continues to foster communication and conduct direct visits to various companies to ensure the industrial climate remains conducive. He considers PT Enkei Indonesia a strategic company that significantly contributes to labour absorption in Bekasi Regency. Consequently, the local government is committed to providing support so the company can continue to grow and sustain its operations. ‘We understand that many companies are currently facing challenges, leading to workforce reductions in some sectors. That is why we are here to ensure the company can endure. Should there be any need for government support, whether related to licensing or other matters, we will oversee it so the company can continue to develop and retain its existing workforce,’ he said. Asep further conveyed that the Bekasi Regency Government is prepared to facilitate company needs within its authority, including expediting licensing services that can support business expansion and open new investment opportunities. This step is expected to sustain industrial activity while creating broader employment opportunities for the people of Bekasi Regency. ‘The most important thing for us is to prevent workforce reductions. The local government will continue to support the business world so it can grow, develop, and provide benefits to the people of Bekasi Regency,’ he asserted.
