Bekasi Regency Forms District-Level Task Force to Strengthen Oversight of Free Nutritious Meals Programme
Bekasi Regency (ANTARA) - The Bekasi Regency Government in West Java has formed district-level task forces with the primary mission of strengthening the control function of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Programme to optimise its implementation in the field.
“Camats in each area have been appointed as Heads of the District MBG Task Force. Immediately establish monitoring posts and deploy dedicated human resources to escort this priority programme,” said Assistant for Regional Affairs (Asda) III of Bekasi Regency, Iis Sandra Yanti, in Cikarang on Thursday.
She assessed that the formation of task forces at this regional level is important as a strategic step to strengthen control as well as monitoring and evaluation of the programme’s implementation in the field.
The existence of the District MBG Task Force is believed to facilitate the supervision process so that every obstacle or discrepancy in the programme’s implementation in the field can be immediately detected and followed up.
“The purpose of forming the district task force is to further maximise the control function and implementation of the programme in the field. Thus, any discrepancies or issues that need to be corrected in the programme’s implementation can be reported early,” she said.
The local government will again conduct data matching for beneficiaries as validation material so that target communities that have not yet received the service can be immediately accommodated.
Until the end of April 2026, the MBG Programme in Bekasi Regency has reached 548,248 beneficiaries from various segments of society.
This additional nutritious food programme has been provided to a total of 453,594 students from early childhood education levels to junior high school. The service has also been expanded to include 10,370 pregnant women, 19,891 breastfeeding mothers, and 64,393 toddlers.
Meanwhile, regarding the readiness of service kitchens, there are currently 318 SPPG kitchens throughout Bekasi Regency spread across various areas. This number will be re-mapped and adjusted to the needs of the beneficiary community.
