Police have named a member of the Bekasi Regency DPRD and two other individuals as suspects in an alleged assault that took place at a restaurant in South Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, in October 2025. Investigators from the Mobile Investigation Unit V of the Metro Bekasi Police have handed over the three suspects along with evidence to the Public Prosecutor at the Bekasi District Attorney’s Office on Wednesday (29/7) after the case file was declared complete, or P-21. “The three suspects handed over have the initials NY, E, and B. One of the suspects is known to be an active member of the DPRD,” said Metro Bekasi Police Head of Public Relations, AKP Aliyani, in a statement on Thursday (30/7). During the second phase of the process, investigators also submitted evidence including a piece of black clothing and a Visum et Repertum document. Aliyani stated that this phase is part of the law enforcement process after the investigation was declared complete by the Bekasi District Prosecutor’s Office. “The Indonesian National Police is committed to upholding the law professionally, transparently, accountably, and fairly without discrimination, and to ensuring that every legal process proceeds according to the law,” he said. Previously, a man named Fendy (41) reported an alleged assault involving a Bekasi Regency DPRD member with the initial N. The assault occurred at a restaurant in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, on Wednesday evening (29/10). Fendy arrived at the restaurant around 8.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time with several colleagues. After finishing their meal around 11.30 p.m., his colleagues said goodbye and Fendy escorted them to the front of the restaurant. At that moment, he noticed the council member’s driver staring at him continuously. “I didn’t know what his intention was. We were worried, afraid something might happen,” Fendy said at the Metro Jaya Police headquarters on Wednesday (26/10). Shortly after, Fendy went back inside the restaurant to wait for his ride. At the same time, the driver also came back inside and kept staring at him. Fendy then approached the council member to ask why his driver was staring at him. However, because the restaurant was crowded and music was playing, their conversation was unclear. Fendy asked the question again as he could not hear the response. “Then the man suddenly stood up and ran to my table with his friends. There were 14 of them. ‘Are you challenging me?’ he said. I answered no, I was just asking. As soon as I said that, they started beating me,” Fendy recounted. As a result of the assault, Fendy suffered several injuries, including a swollen eye, bleeding on his face and arm, and a bruise on his head from being hit with a bottle. Fendy subsequently reported the assault to the authorities.
