Bekasi Regency Civil Servant Arrested for Drug Possession
Police have arrested a civil servant working for the Bekasi Regency government in West Java on suspicion of possessing and storing methamphetamine.
“The suspect was apprehended at the Bekasi Regency Government Plaza complex in Sukamahi Village, Cikarang Pusat Subdistrict,” said AKP Aliyani, Head of Public Relations for Bekasi Metropolitan Police Resort, in Cikarang on Friday.
The male suspect, identified as N alias I, who works as a PPPK (civil servant under contract), was targeted by police following direct surveillance at his workplace.
He explained that the arrest of the PPPK civil servant stemmed from an ongoing investigation by the Cikarang Selatan Police Sector’s Criminal Investigation Unit to maintain public security and order.
During the search, officers found six plastic bags sealed with clips containing methamphetamine, two mobile phones (Infinix and Realme brands), a digital scale, an empty plastic bag with clip, a motorcycle, and a green crossbody bag.
Based on public information and case investigation into suspected methamphetamine storage, officers visited the home of a man identified as D alias A. During questioning, the suspect revealed the hiding place under his bed.
In this operation, authorities seized 10 methamphetamine packets, a scale, two mobile phones, 25 cut straws, plastic clips, tape, and a pair of scissors.
“Both suspects and the seized evidence have been detained at Cikarang Selatan Police Station for further investigation and case development,” he added.
Aliyani confirmed both suspects and evidence have been confiscated for ongoing investigation, with efforts continuing to uncover a wider drug trafficking network.
