Bekasi Proving Ground Features Facilities for Testing Electric and Hybrid Vehicles

JAKARTA – Not only for testing conventional vehicles, the proving ground in Cibitung, Bekasi, West Java, also accommodates advancements in electric vehicle technology. This means that testing of electric vehicles, both motorcycles and cars, can be conducted at the Balai Pengujian Laik Jalan dan Sertifikasi Kendaraan Bermotor (BPLJSKB) facility. “Electric vehicles here (at the proving ground) also have testing facilities, and we have already carried them out,” said BPLJSKB Head Iman Sukandar to KOMPAS.com in Bekasi, West Java, on Tuesday (5/5/2026). Interestingly, the testing is not limited to pure electric vehicles but also includes electrified vehicles such as hybrids and plug-in hybrids (PHEV).
