Bekasi Police Open Free Vehicle Deposit Service for Mudik Travellers
Bekasi District — Bekasi Metropolitan Police (Polres Metro Bekasi) has opened a dedicated motor vehicle deposit service for residents planning to undertake mudik (homecoming) travels during the 2026 Eid holiday period as an initiative to create a sense of security.
“This service is intended so that the public feels safe leaving their homes during the mudik journey to their hometowns,” said Bekasi Metropolitan Police Chief Commissioner Sumarni at Cikarang on Friday.
The police chief explained that the dedicated vehicle deposit service is available at the Bekasi Metropolitan Police headquarters and sector police stations distributed across Bekasi District’s jurisdiction.
“Bekasi Metropolitan Police is opening a vehicle deposit service for residents planning to mudik. Vehicles can be deposited at the police headquarters or the nearest sector police station to remain secure whilst left by their owners. This programme is part of police services to maintain security during the mudik period,” she said.
She explained that residents wishing to utilise this service need only bring vehicle documents in the form of a Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK) and an identity card (KTP).
With such a simple procedure, she continued, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles belonging to residents can be deposited whilst they celebrate Eid in their respective hometowns.
Sumarni stressed that the vehicle deposit service incurs no charges. The police also ensure that public vehicles remain secure whilst at the police station premises.
“This service is free. We want the public to feel more at ease during mudik because their vehicles are in a safe location,” she said.
The police also provided contact information for residents requiring further information regarding vehicle deposits during the mudik period.
Residents can contact Samapta officers at 081210851839 or Provos officers at 081510883988 to obtain information and assistance regarding the service.
“We hope the public can undertake mudik safely and comfortably. However, before leaving, please ensure your home is secure, all doors and windows are locked properly and all electrical circuits are switched off,” she said.
Residents living relatively far from Bekasi Metropolitan Police headquarters can deposit vehicles at the sector police station closest to their residence. This is intended so that the service is more easily accessible to residents.
Available sector police stations include: Babelan, Tarumajaya, Tambun Selatan, Cibitung, Cikarang Utara, Cikarang Barat, Cikarang Pusat, Tambelang, Setu, Kedung Waringin, Sukatani, Cabang Bungin, Pebayuran, Muaragembong, Serang Baru, and Cibarusah.
