Bekasi Police Arrest Two Prescription Drug Dealers Following Citizen Report
Bekasi - The Narcotics Unit of Bekasi Metropolitan Police arrested two suspects alleged to be dealers of Schedule G prescription drugs in Cikarang Utara District, Bekasi Regency, following a citizen report.
“Action was taken based on community information reporting transaction and distribution activities of Schedule G drugs at the location,” said Bekasi Metropolitan Police Chief Commissioner Sumarni in Cikarang on Saturday.
The two suspects, identified as A (29) and S.A.B. (27), both residents of Bekasi Regency, were detained at Kebon Kopi Village, RT 003 RW 007, Karangasih Subdistrict, Cikarang Utara, on Friday evening (29 May).
Following the citizen report, officers conducted field investigations and spotted two individuals exhibiting suspicious behaviour near the arrest site. Both suspects were apprehended and subjected to questioning and searches.
During the search, authorities recovered 720 tramadol tablets, 870 hexymer tablets, plastic clip packaging, two mobile phones, Rp775,000 in sale proceeds, a wallet containing identification documents, and a shoulder bag used to store the items.
“According to investigators, the seized items are believed to originate from a person identified as D, alias F, who is currently being sought by police,” Sumarni said.
The case is being handled under the provisions of Law No. 17 of 2023 on Health. In addition to completing investigative procedures, authorities will conduct laboratory tests on the seized evidence.
