Bekasi Officials Urged Not to Disable Social Media Comment Sections

Bekasi City — The Mayor of Bekasi, Tri Adhianto, has requested all heads of regional agencies, sub-district heads, and village heads not to disable social media comment sections, ensuring that the public retains a space to convey criticism and input regarding public services. Following the inauguration of officials within the Bekasi City Government on Friday, Tri stated that openness to criticism is a vital part of building transparent, responsive, and accountable public services. “Allow the community to convey constructive criticism and suggestions. Our actions are monitored by the public, so openness becomes a part of service accountability,” he said. He also reminded heads of regional agencies not to be technologically illiterate and to utilise social media and information technology as tools to accelerate communication and the resolution of community issues. “Sub-district heads, village heads, and heads of agencies must not be tech-illiterate. Utilise technology to listen to public aspirations while providing rapid service,” he added. During the event, Tri inaugurated 24 officials within the Bekasi City Government, consisting of four high-ranking primary officials (Echelon II), 13 administrative officials (Echelon III), and seven supervisory officials (Echelon IV). According to him, the inauguration is part of an organisational refreshment to strengthen the quality of public services. The officials were urged to adapt quickly, work innovatively, and remain responsive to the needs of the community. He also reminded all officials to maintain integrity, professionalism, and the trust of their positions as a form of service to the public.
