Bekasi Metro Police Uncover 47 Drug and Unlicensed Medicine Cases, 60 Suspects Arrested
Bekasi Metro Police uncovered 47 cases of narcotics and unlicensed Schedule G medicine distribution during the period from 1 February to 17 April 2026. From these revelations, 60 perpetrators were arrested.
In handling these cases, the Narcotics Subdirectorate recorded 26 police reports consisting of 23 cases of Schedule G medicine distribution and three cases of narcotics distribution involving crystal meth and ecstasy. All perpetrators were known to act as dealers with economic motives.
“All of them acted as dealers motivated by economic gain. The majority of the perpetrators are of productive age between 20 and 50 years, with most residing in Bekasi Regency,” said Sumarni in her official statement on Friday (17/4/2026).
“Officers also seized dozens of mobile phones, digital scales, clip bags, bags, and cash amounting to Rp 51,852,500 from illegal transactions,” Sumarni revealed.
Sumarni explained that the perpetrators used various methods to distribute the prohibited goods.
For crystal meth and ecstasy narcotics, the perpetrators used the “tempel” method, offering goods via social media such as Instagram, then providing coordinate points for the storage location to buyers.
“Meanwhile, Schedule G medicine distribution was carried out using a COD system with changing locations to avoid monitoring by officers,” she said.
Based on mapping results, drug distribution locations in Bekasi Regency are spread across various points, from rented houses, shops, mobile phone counters, inspection roads, to open areas.
The areas include North Cikarang, South Cikarang, Central Cikarang, Sukatani, South Tambun, Cibitung, Babelan, to Pebayuran.
“The most dominant points are in the Kampung Kapling area of North Cikarang and Sukatani,” said Sumarni.
Sumarni added that the case revelations are estimated to have prevented potential drug abuse that could harm around 21,914 souls.
The suspects are charged under Law No. 17 of 2023 on Health and Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, with penalties ranging from 12 years imprisonment to life imprisonment, accompanied by fines in the billions of rupiah.
