Bekasi Metro Police Open Free Vehicle Storage Service for Mudik 2026, Here Are the Requirements

For Bekasi residents and surrounding areas planning to return to their hometowns using public transport, there is no need to worry about leaving vehicles at home.

Bekasi Metro Police in West Java is providing a free motor vehicle storage service for residents during the 2026 Lebaran mudik period. In addition to Bekasi Metro Police headquarters, travellers can also store their vehicles at the nearest neighbourhood police office in Bekasi Regency.

This service is provided to assist residents who wish to return to their hometowns with greater peace of mind without having to worry about vehicle security.

Vehicle storage can be arranged at several locations, with further information available through official police contact channels.

This operation is part of efforts to maintain security and ensure smooth traffic flow for mudik travellers in Bekasi Regency’s legal jurisdiction.

“The spirit of this security troop deployment aligns with the main message of this year’s Operasi Ketupat Jaya, which is ‘Safe Mudik, Happy Family’,” explained Bekasi Metro Police Chief Senior Commissioner Pol. Sumarni, as cited by Antara on Thursday (12 March 2026).

Additionally, a number of security posts, service posts, and support posts will be established and maintained around the clock by combined personnel. “We are setting up posts that mudik travellers can access to rest or seek assistance during their journey home,” said Police Chief Sumarni.

Through these various facilities, mudik travellers are expected to be able to make their journey home safely and comfortably during the 2026 Lebaran travel period.
