The Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Bekasi Metro Police has successfully uncovered a case involving the distribution of unlicensed hard drugs classified as List G in the Cibarusah District, Bekasi Regency, West Java. During the operation, police detained two suspected perpetrators along with hundreds of illicit pills.

Head of the Bekasi Metro Police Narcotics Unit, AKB Hannry Tambunan, confirmed the arrests were made against two men with the initials BM and AG. Both were apprehended in the Sindangmulya area, Cibarusah District, on Monday (15/6/2026).

“This disclosure stemmed from community reports expressing concern over the suspected circulation of List G drugs in their neighbourhood. Following up on this information, officers immediately conducted an investigation at the location,” said Hannry on Wednesday (17/6/2026).

From the arrests, officers seized a number of pieces of evidence that strengthened the suspicion of the perpetrators’ illegal activities. Based on initial interrogations, both perpetrators admitted to obtaining the supply of hard drugs from a man with the initials AGM. Currently, the police have placed AGM on the Wanted Persons List (DPO) and are conducting an intensive manhunt.

“We are continuing to develop this case to sever its distribution chain. We are also hunting down the main supplier, identified as AGM,” Hannry stressed.

At present, BM and AG, along with all the evidence, have been taken to the Bekasi Metro Police Headquarters to undergo further legal proceedings. Both face charges under provisions related to the distribution of pharmaceutical preparations without a distribution permit, as stipulated in the Health Law.

The Bekasi Metro Police also urged the public to remain vigilant and actively report any suspicious activities related to the circulation of illegal drugs or other criminal acts in their surroundings to maintain public security and order.
