Bekasi Mayor Reminds Migrants: Prepare Skills to Compete
Bekasi Mayor Tri Adhianto has reminded residents wishing to migrate to Bekasi City to prepare themselves thoroughly, particularly in terms of skills and physical condition.
“For migrants, of course they must prepare skills, stamina, physical fitness, and good health,” Tri told reporters on Monday (23/3/2026).
“They should have skills, a foothold, and be ready to then ‘battle’,” he said.
However, he assessed that opportunities remain open for those who are prepared.
“But of course there are still many opportunities and hopes,” he stated.
Tri also urged Eid returnees, especially those using private vehicles, not to delay their return to Bekasi City to avoid congestion during the 2026 Eid return flow.
“Use time wisely so it doesn’t pile up in the last few days. If necessary, prepare from the start,” Tri said.
He explained that the Bekasi City Government (Pemkot) has prepared several anticipatory measures for the vehicle surge. One of them is through the implementation of traffic engineering on several arterial road sections.
According to him, the scheme is flexible and will be adjusted to field conditions, especially based on vehicle volume.
“We have prepared several road sections. Both Plan A, up to Plans 1, 2, and 3. Which ones will then be closed, directed, or given priority to deliver the returnees back to their respective homes,” Tri revealed.
Tri added that the local government will remain on alert during the Eid period to ensure smooth traffic flow, both during the outbound and return journeys.
“And in some areas, road conditions are not yet fully good,” he said.
The public is urged to ensure physical condition remains prime and vehicles are in roadworthy condition before travelling.
“So I think be very careful regarding the vehicles used and also ensure they are in healthy condition, including the vehicles,” Tri said.
