Bekasi - Bekasi Mayor Tri Adhianto has assured that the work-from-home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) will not disrupt employee performance or the quality of services provided to the public.

In addition to energy efficiency and mobility control, the implementation of WFH also serves as a momentum to accelerate the digitalisation of public services.

“WFH must be used as a push to strengthen digital-based work systems. Public services in the future must be faster, more transparent, and accessible without spatial limitations,” said Tri in his statement on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

Regional agencies directly related to public services will continue to operate with proportional and measured attendance arrangements.

To maintain discipline, the Bekasi City Government is also strengthening the ASN performance monitoring system during WFH by utilising technology and clear work indicators.

“Of course, we are tightening WFH supervision to maintain discipline. ASN performance is still monitored through systems with clear and measurable indicators,” said Tri.

The WFH policy is expected to improve efficiency, performance, and the quality of services to the public. In addition, the implementation of WFH is hoped to run more integrated nationally.

Now, the Bekasi City Government has changed the ASN WFH policy to every Friday, after previously being trialled on Wednesday (1/4/2026).

The adjustment was made to align local policies with the central government in efforts to achieve energy efficiency and mobility control.

Previously reported, the Bekasi City Government had implemented a WFH policy every Wednesday, as stipulated in Circular Letter Number 800.1.5/1583/BKPSDM.PKA regarding the Adjustment of ASN Official Duties Implementation.

At that time, the policy was implemented flexibly according to the type of work, while services directly interacting with the public continued to operate normally.

In the public services sector such as the Health Agency, Social Agency, Population and Civil Registration Agency (Dukcapil), and Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), there was no surge in queues despite WFH implementation reaching 50 percent.

“For public services, we set it at 50 percent, while 100 percent attendance is still enforced for general services,” said Tri when met at the City Hall Plaza, Monday (30/3/2026).
