Bekasi Maintains Retributions from Foreign Workers

TEMPO Interactive, Bekasi: The Bekasi regency government is maintaining retributions from foreign workers in Bekasi amounting to US$100 per month each as regional revenue.

Head of Work Requirement Section at the Manpower Department, Otang Santonomi, said the central government plans to take over the retributions.

“We will not let this happen,” Otang told Tempo today (16/7).

There are 1,500 foreign workers in Bekasi working at 2,400 companies in the garment, metal, electronic, automotive, plastic, and food and drink sectors.
