Bekasi industrial estate boosts digital infrastructure to support transformation
PT Bekasi Fajar Industrial Estate Tbk (BeFa) is strengthening digital infrastructure in the Bekasi industrial estate, West Java, to support technology-based industrial transformation while increasing investment appeal amid the growing need for ecosystems ready to adopt AI.
BeFa President Director Leo Yulianto Sutedja said the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), data centres, cloud computing, automation, and smart manufacturing has changed infrastructure requirements in industrial estates.
According to him, investors no longer only need land, electricity, water, and logistics access, but also reliable, secure digital connectivity capable of growing with business needs.
“For investors, the main thing is certainty that infrastructure needs can be met according to the quality and schedule requested,” he said.
In response to these changes, the company continues to improve the readiness of its industrial estate through digital infrastructure development.
This effort was realised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SolidBlue, through PT Kawasan Lintas Biru Digital (KLBD), and Xenith IG to enhance the estate’s digital network capabilities while expanding digital infrastructure access along the Jakarta-Cikampek corridor.
The signing, which took place on 27 August 2026 in Bali, is also part of the company’s initiative as an estate prepared to support the growth of AI, data centres, cloud computing, digital manufacturing, and various future technologies.
In this project, SolidBlue is building the digital connectivity foundation within the industrial estate, while Xenith IG is expanding connectivity reach by linking the estate to a broader digital infrastructure ecosystem.
The partnership is designed to deliver a reliable, secure, resilient, and scalable network to support the needs of AI, cloud computing, data centres, the Internet of Things (IoT), and various other industrial applications.
“Through this collaboration, BeFa ensures the readiness of electricity, connectivity, water, and other supporting infrastructure in an integrated manner. For us, being AI-ready means providing certainty to tenants from the first day of investment,” he said.
Meanwhile, Xenith IG CEO Noah Drake said the partnership will strengthen the industrial estate’s digital infrastructure through the construction of a fibre optic network capable of supporting AI and hyperscaler workload needs.
Previously, the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has also been accelerating national industrial digital transformation through the use of AI technology to improve efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness amid global competition.
The government’s efforts to accelerate digital transformation are being carried out through the facilitation of Proof of Concept (PoC) for AI-based Industry 4.0 solutions in the pharmaceutical sector, one of the priority sectors in the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap.
