The Bekasi Regency Fire and Rescue Service in West Java deployed nine units from several sectors to extinguish a fire that engulfed 50 buses at the Sirnajaya bus depot on Jalan Jarakosta, Sukadanau Village, West Cikarang.

“The fire originated from the bus depot. A total of 50 buses that were no longer in operation were reported to have been destroyed in the incident,” said Head of the Bekasi Regency Fire and Rescue Service Adeng Hudaya in Cikarang on Tuesday.

He explained that the fire incident report was received by officers on Tuesday (18/8) at 01.45 WIB and was immediately followed up by dispatching fire crews to the scene. Officers arrived at the location at 02.00 WIB and promptly began extinguishing the flames.

Officers continued the response with a cooling process to ensure the fire did not reignite. To date, there has been no official report regarding the value of material losses suffered as a result of the incident.

The exact cause of the fire is also still under investigation. Police officers are conducting further examinations to determine the initial source of the flames.

“There have been no reports of casualties in the incident. The value of losses resulting from the fire is still being assessed. Police are also still investigating the cause of this incident,” he said.
