Bekasi Father Allegedly Rapes His Own Child, Using 'Sexual Education' as an Excuse

Bekasi Metropolitan Police Chief of Police, Commissioner Sumarni, said that the victim was raped by her biological father in a rented house where they both resided. In fact, the victim had been living with her grandfather and grandmother in Tambelang because both parents worked. However, the perpetrator took the victim to a rental house and they lived alone, the reason being to be closer to school. “The perpetrator is suspected of exploiting the proximity and the rental house situation so that the victim was in a powerless condition,” said Kombes Sumarni, quoted by Antara, on Tuesday (19/5/2026). The police are conducting an investigation after receiving the report. Investigators are also examining the suspect’s assertion that he was giving the victim sexual education. The case was uncovered after the victim confided in her elder sister. Eventually the father was reported to police and detained for further questioning. Meanwhile, the head of the Bekasi Metro Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit, AKBP Jerico Lavian Chandra, added that the suspect had been secured and was undergoing intensive questioning at the Metro Bekasi Police Headquarters. In the course of the investigation, police also seized a number of pieces of evidence including the visum et repertum results, the victim’s clothing, psychological assessment results, and statements from several witnesses. For his actions, the suspect JN was charged under Article 473(4) of Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning acts of sexual violence against children.
