BEKASI District Government is preparing at least 18 mudik checkpoints for Eid 2026 to serve travellers passing through the area during the departure and return periods, whilst ensuring the security and comfort of road users.

“We are preparing these Eid 1447 Hijri mudik posts to support the government in creating conducive conditions for the exodus flow,” said Acting Head of Bekasi District Transportation Department Agus Budiono in Cikarang, in a statement on Tuesday (10 March).

He explained that the establishment and implementation of technical provisions for mudik checkpoints resulted from coordination between the local government, Bekasi Metro Police, and various related agencies involved in the operation codenamed Operation Ketupat Jaya.

Based on the coordinated results, the 18 mudik checkpoints are divided into several service functions including 1 integrated checkpoint, 4 security posts, 5 service posts, and 8 monitoring points.

“These 18 mudik checkpoints are distributed across several areas that are concentration points for travellers, ranging from the State Road along the northern coast highway, Kalimalang, and sections of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road,” he said.

Agus stated that the posts are being prepared to assist in traffic security whilst providing services to travellers passing through Bekasi District.

He also reminded the public planning to travel for mudik to make proper preparations, starting from planning departure times to ensuring vehicles and drivers are in prime condition.

“We urge mudik travellers to conduct checks and pay attention to vehicle conditions such as engine condition, braking systems, and tyre thickness. Additionally, the driver’s physical condition must also be ensured to be healthy,” he said.

According to Agus, driver safety during the journey is a top priority. If drivers feel tired or drowsy, they are advised not to force themselves to continue driving.

“If you feel tired or drowsy, do not force yourself to drive. Please make use of the service posts that have been provided to rest,” he said.

The district hopes that through these security measures, the 2026 Eid departure and return flows can proceed safely, comfortably, and in a controlled manner for all members of the public.
