Bekasi Disabled Athletes' Grant Fund Corruption Case Worth Rp 7 Billion Set for Trial
The case involving the misuse of grant funds for disabled athletes in Bekasi Regency, West Java, has entered a new phase, with both suspects set to face trial.
As compiled from reports, two individuals identified by the initials KD and NY have been named suspects in an alleged corruption case involving grant funds allocated to the National Paralympic Committee Indonesia (NPCI) Bekasi Regency chapter. The two suspects are alleged to have misappropriated a portion of funds provided by the regional government to NPCI for personal gain.
The case has been under investigation since 2025, with the case files declared complete on 18 February 2026.
Both suspects, along with the evidence, have now been handed over to the prosecutor’s office to await indictment.
Case Files Complete, Suspects Transferred to Prosecutors
According to the Bekasi Metropolitan Police’s Instagram account, the Phase II transfer of the suspects was carried out on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, after the case files were declared complete (P-21). Both suspects were handed over to the prosecutor’s office together with 36 items of evidence, including grant disbursement documents, accountability reports, banking transaction records, and Rp 400 million in cash.
“The investigation into the police report filed in August 2025 has uncovered alleged state losses amounting to Rp 7,117,660,158,” the Bekasi Metropolitan Police’s Instagram account stated on Thursday, 19 February 2026.
State Losses of Rp 7.1 Billion
The then Bekasi Metropolitan Police Chief, Commissioner Mustofa, stated that his office had named two suspects, identified as KD and NY, in the corruption case involving disabled athletes’ grant funds in Bekasi. State losses from the corruption reached Rp 7.1 billion.
“State financial losses amounted to Rp 7,117,660,158 based on a state financial loss calculation conducted by auditors from the Bekasi Regency Inspectorate,” Commissioner Mustofa said in a statement on Thursday, 27 November 2025.
He explained that the National Paralympic Committee Indonesia (NPCI) Bekasi Regency chapter had received grants in the form of cash from the regional government totalling Rp 12 billion.
Corruption Proceeds Used for Legislative Campaign
Police have revealed the actions of the two suspects, KD and NY, in the alleged corruption case involving Rp 7.1 billion in disabled athletes’ grant funds in Bekasi Regency. Both used the proceeds of corruption for personal purposes.
The former Bekasi Metropolitan Police Chief, Commissioner Mustofa, stated that suspect KD used the funds for a legislative candidate campaign in 2024, to the tune of Rp 2 billion.
“Suspect KD used Rp 2 billion in grant money for campaign expenses during the 2024 election for membership of the Bekasi Regency Regional House of Representatives,” Mustofa said on Thursday, 27 November 2025.
Meanwhile, suspect NY allegedly received Rp 1.79 billion in corrupt proceeds. The money was allegedly used to purchase vehicles.
“It was then used by suspect NY for the down payment and instalments on two Toyota Innova Zenix units, registered under the identities of suspect NY’s nephew and brother-in-law, amounting to Rp 319,420,000, with the remainder yet to be accounted for,” he said.
