Bekasi (ANTARA) - The Bekasi City Government, West Java, is holding free health check services from 4-9 May at the GOR Patriot Candrabhaga with a quota of up to 2,500 women from the local area to commemorate Kartini Month 2026.

Bekasi Mayor Tri Adhianto Tjahyono stated that the event is organised through collaboration between the Bekasi City Health Office and the Family Welfare Empowerment Movement (TP PKK) team as well as the Semangat Lawan Kanker (Selangkah) community from Siloam Hospital.

“I invite the women of Bekasi City to take advantage of this free health screening programme, including breast ultrasounds, health checks, and HPV DNA tests,” he said in Bekasi on Monday.

He explained that in line with the event’s theme ‘Healthy Women, Empowered Women’, this free health examination programme is a concrete form of the local government’s commitment to raising public awareness about the importance of early detection of various diseases.

He reaffirmed the Bekasi City Government’s commitment to continue supporting various health service programmes that directly address community needs.

“The government will continue to support efforts to realise healthy residents. In the future, we also invite other private hospitals to collaborate in providing the best health services so that the people of Bekasi City are increasingly healthy and protected,” he said.

Tri Adhianto continued that synergy between the government, health facilities, and communities is an important step in expanding access to preventive health services for the public.

Chair of the Bekasi City TP PKK, Wiwiek Hargono Tri Adhianto, hopes that this event can provide great benefits while increasing women’s awareness to routinely undergo health examinations.

“I hope this free breast ultrasound screening, health check, and HPV DNA event becomes a momentum for Bekasi City women to be more concerned about their health,” she said.

She hopes that more women can maintain their health from the start so that they remain healthy, strong, and able to become drivers of families and communities.

“Through this event, the spirit of Kartini is realised through concrete actions to provide health services for women, as part of efforts to create healthier and higher-quality families and communities in Bekasi City,” she said.
