Bekasi-Cikarang KRL Line Planned to Resume Operations from This Afternoon

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – KAI’s VP of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, stated that the Bekasi-Cikarang line was not operational on Wednesday morning (29/4/2026). KAI, continued Anne, plans to resume operations of the commuter line on the Bekasi-Cikarang route starting in the afternoon. “Up to now, the evacuation process of KRL facilities is still ongoing at the location,” Anne said in a written statement in Jakarta on Wednesday (29/4/2026). Anne explained that the handling is being carried out in stages with full caution, ensuring that all safety aspects are met before operations resume. Anne said that KRL journeys are temporarily limited only to Bekasi Station. “As the handling on the ground progresses, services are planned to resume gradually up to the Bekasi-Cikarang line in the afternoon,” Anne stated. Anne conveyed that the main focus at this time is to ensure the evacuation process runs safely and in a coordinated manner. According to Anne, the team on the ground continues to carry out the evacuation with caution. “We ensure that journeys will only be operated after all safety aspects are fulfilled,” Anne added. Anne expressed that the incident in the Bekasi area brings deep sorrow. KAI conveys condolences to all affected parties.
