Bekasi-Cikarang Commuter Line Resumes Operations
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Services on the Bekasi–Cikarang commuter line have resumed normal operations following an accident that occurred on Monday (27/4/2026). Bekasi Timur Station has been serving passengers again since Wednesday afternoon (29/4/2026).
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) stated that KRL operations have reopened after successful trial runs. “Following various stages of trials, KRL services on the Bekasi–Cikarang line have resumed operations starting at 14:00 WIB,” said VP Corporate Communication of KAI, Anne Purba, in Jakarta on Wednesday (28/4/2026).
Anne explained that the recovery involved a series of technical inspections on the tracks and supporting systems. All stages focused on safety aspects before services were reopened.
“The entire process has undergone thorough checks to ensure the safety and security of train journeys as well as the comfort of service users,” said Anne.
Anne added that operations were opened after all safety aspects were confirmed to be met. KAI ensures services resume with strict supervision.
KAI hopes this normalisation of services will facilitate mobility for the public, particularly in the Bekasi and Cikarang regions.
