Jakarta (ANTARA) - The International Beijing 2026 Auto Show (Beijing Auto Show), scheduled for 24 April, will utilise an area of 380,000 square metres, making it the largest automotive exhibition in the world.

CarnewsChina reported on Sunday (19/4) local time that the exhibition will adopt a new format with two locations, combining the China International Exhibition Centre (Shunyi Hall) and the National Capital International Exhibition Centre.

It is no surprise, then, that the exhibition has sufficient space to accommodate around 1,451 vehicles that will be on display during the event from 24 April to 3 May 2026.

The exhibition will also be used by automotive manufacturers to launch a variety of their latest vehicles. It is recorded that there will be around 181 global launches and 71 concept cars. Seventeen exhibition halls will be used, with 13 of them dedicated to finished vehicles.

New brands focused on technology, including Huawei-backed Harmony Intelligent Mobility, Nio, Xpeng, Li Auto, Xiaomi, and Leapmotor, are also expected to showcase developments in battery electric drive systems, long-range capabilities, and hydrogen.

In addition to automotive producers, the exhibition will feature participants from 21 countries and regions across the entire supply chain and key technologies. The exhibition will focus on electrification, intelligent drive systems, and digital vehicle architecture, reflecting the ongoing industry transition.

More than 200 press conferences are scheduled during the event, with participation from executives, researchers, policymakers, and global media.

The Beijing Auto Show 2026 is positioned as a large-scale industry gathering that reflects the ongoing shift towards electrification, intelligent systems, and global competition.

The expanded venue structure and increased number of exhibitors highlight the scale of the domestic market and international participation.

The Beijing and Shanghai auto shows alternate every two years, with each hosting China’s major international exhibition in their respective years.
