Eight killed in Yogyakarta landslide: Eight people are presumed
dead after landslides buried their houses in the village of
Purwoharjo in Kulon Progo regency, Yogyakarta, on Tuesday
afternoon. Two bodies have been recovered, while six others
remain under the mud. The search for the other six was halted as
dark fell, but will resume on Wednesday. Local residents said the
landslide occurred after rains drenched the village at the slope
of Mount Menoreh for more than three hours on Tuesday afternoon.
