BEI Investment Gallery Targets Potential Investors
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) Bengkulu Representative today (5/11) officiated the reopening of the BEI Investment Gallery (GI BEI) at the Bengkulu College of Administrative Sciences (STIA). This is intended to recruit students to become investors in the capital market.
BEI Director of Development Hasan Fawzi stated that the investment gallery also aims to increase students’ literacy regarding the capital market world while preparing potential investors and future professionals. The GI BEI is managed by three institutions: STIA, BEI, and PT MNC Securitas.
“Alhamdulillah, today we have officiated the BEI Investment Gallery in Bengkulu. This is already the seventh investment gallery of the Indonesia Stock Exchange in Bengkulu. Since the establishment of previous investment galleries and the socialisation activities we have conducted, Bengkulu has become a province with one of the highest investor growth rates in Indonesia,” said Hasan Fawzi to BE on Tuesday (5/11).
As of today, there are nearly 5,000 stock investors from Bengkulu Province. Of course, the potential is still very open for continued rapid growth. “That is why the Indonesia Stock Exchange is very pleased; today we have received full support from STIA and the entire academic community, allowing us to re-establish the investment gallery,” he explained.
Hasan added that the hope is for it to serve not only as a means to educate the public to shift towards good, wise investments and encourage safe investing. This is because most misguided investments, or those that seem enticing but actually involve elements of fraud and impropriety.
“We want to educate the people of Bengkulu to have a comprehensive understanding, so that investing in our exchange becomes an active means. Good investment for management, because the level of public understanding varies greatly—some have no knowledge at all about what the capital market is or how to invest in capital market investment facilities,” he concluded.
In agreement with Hasan, MNC Securities Director Susi Meiliana stated that MNC Securities is particularly focused on quality and is the tenth to officiate the first MNC achievement gallery in Bengkulu. Because Bengkulu is a potential market with many students who already have the drive.
“The capital market is very much needed; we believe and are confident that Bengkulu is a potential market, so we must develop it together,” she concluded.
Meanwhile, STIA Chairman Marjoyo SE, MM said that everything has been prepared as maximally as possible so that this stock exchange runs well. So that students can invest well in general, and also to support coursework in business administration.
“The hope is that students directly understand what shares are, how to trade shares, and that investing is not just theory. But also beneficial for them in gaining investment experience,” he concluded.
