BEI highlights the importance of Main Board status for listed companies
The status of listed companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) Main Board is considered a key indicator of a company’s quality and maturity in the capital market. Companies on this board have met higher requirements compared to those on the Development or Acceleration boards.
BEI’s Corporate Assessment Director, I Gede Nyoman Yetna, stated that Main Board status can enhance a company’s reputation and broaden its investor base. Additionally, listed companies have a greater chance of being included in various stock indices used by domestic and global investors.
‘Being listed on the Main Board can improve a company’s reputation, expand its investor base, and increase the likelihood of inclusion in specific stock indices, including those used by global investors,’ Nyoman told journalists on Friday, 29 May 2026.
According to Nyoman, maintaining Main Board status is crucial as it reflects higher standards in terms of fundamental performance, market capitalisation, and compliance with exchange regulations. Therefore, a company’s presence on the Main Board serves as a reference for investors to assess the quality and development of listed companies in the capital market.
BEI regularly evaluates companies that may move up or down in listing boards. According toExchange regulation No. I-A, the evaluation and board transitions occur every May andNovember.
