Most LRT Jabodebek passengers naturally hope their journeys will always be safe and comfortable without ever facing an emergency. However, should such a situation actually occur, passengers need not panic. Behind the daily operations, LRT Jabodebek officers routinely undergo simulations of various emergency scenarios to ensure every response can be carried out quickly, precisely, and in a coordinated manner.
The simulations cover a range of scenarios, from handling passengers experiencing health problems and fires to natural disasters. These exercises aim to ensure every officer has the competence to make quick and accurate decisions in accordance with applicable safety procedures. Through these drills, officers test their response speed, communication effectiveness, inter-unit coordination, and the application of emergency handling procedures according to prevailing safety standards.
“Most passengers certainly hope they never face an emergency while using the LRT Jabodebek. However, officer preparedness must be built before such a situation truly occurs,” said Radhitya Mardika, Public Relations Manager of LRT Jabodebek. “Therefore, LRT Jabodebek routinely trains all officers through various scenarios so that when a real situation occurs, every action can be taken quickly, precisely, and in a coordinated manner.”
The importance of this preparedness aligns with the increasing number of LRT Jabodebek users. Based on data from the first half of 2026, LRT Jabodebek served an average of 115,095 passengers on weekdays and 45,436 on weekends, an increase compared to the same period the previous year. As public mobility rises, officer readiness becomes a crucial aspect to ensure every journey remains safe and reliable.
Although emergencies are rare, officer readiness must be maintained so that every potential risk can be handled professionally without disrupting passenger safety or comfort. In an emergency, the speed and accuracy of the response are critical factors in protecting passenger safety and minimising potential risks. For this reason, officer preparedness is continuously maintained through regular training.
“Passengers certainly hope their journeys proceed without disruption. But when an emergency truly occurs, they have the right to receive fast, precise, and procedurally correct handling. That is why we continue to ensure every officer is ready to provide the best response to maintain the safety of all passengers,” concluded Radhitya.

Remain calm and do not panic. Panic can complicate the handling or evacuation process.
Follow the officers’ instructions. Officers have been trained to handle various emergency conditions according to safety procedures.
Do not force open train doors or enter the track area. Such actions can endanger yourself and other passengers.
Use emergency facilities only when absolutely necessary. If you encounter an emergency inside the train, passengers can use the Emergency Intercom to communicate with officers.
Give space to officers to work. If a passenger requires assistance, avoid crowding so the handling process can proceed more quickly.
Prioritise vulnerable groups. If evacuation is necessary, prioritise children, the elderly, pregnant women, and persons with disabilities according to officers’ directions.
