Behind the Comfort of Rest Areas, a 24-Hour Cleanliness Task Force Stands Ready
In the midst of rising societal mobility during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return flows, the comfort of rest areas has become a crucial factor for toll road users. Behind the clean and well-maintained facilities lies the role of cleaning staff on standby for 24 hours. Through its subsidiary PT Jasamarga Related Business (JMRB), PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk ensures that the cleanliness of toilet facilities across all Travoy Rests remains optimally maintained to support the smooth flow of this year’s Eid homecoming and return. “To maintain the quality of this service, PT JMRB deploys cleaning personnel at every Travoy Rest point, tasked with conducting regular monitoring. The staff will immediately carry out cleaning if they find toilets in a dirty condition or uncomfortable for use,” said Netty, quoted from an official statement on Wednesday (25/03/2026). In facing the surge in visitors during the return flow, PT JMRB does not rely solely on regular staff. The company also significantly increases the number of cleaning personnel and forms a special task force (satgas). This step is taken to ensure that cleanliness standards are maintained at all rest area points, especially when visitor volumes spike sharply. In addition to deploying staff, PT JMRB is revitalising toilet facilities at several rest areas, including Travoy Rest KM 88B on the Cipularang section, Rest Area KM 57A on the Cikampek section, and Rest Area KM 62B on the Cikampek section. To support travellers’ journeys, PT JMRB is also collaborating with Pertamina to ensure the availability of fuel oil (BBM), including through the provision of modular petrol stations and motorist services. “PT JMRB is also working with PLN to ensure the readiness of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) so they operate optimally,” Netty added. Netty advised road users to make the most of their rest time and proceed to the next rest area if queues form. “All these efforts are PT JMRB’s commitment to supporting the smooth 2026 Eid return flow and providing a sense of safety, comfort, and order for road users. However, road users are also urged to help maintain the cleanliness of available facilities for everyone’s comfort,” she concluded.
