Before UN, Prabowo Says He Already Predicted the World Would Be Hit by 3 Crises
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - President Prabowo Subianto stated that he has been advocating for Indonesia to avoid three global crises. This was even before it was projected by the UN.
President Prabowo mentioned that he has been fighting for these three main issues for many years, before the UN raised them. The three issues in question are related to the food, energy, and water crises.
“Brothers and sisters, and this has been confirmed by the UN, by the United Nations confirming this, in the session they announced. Several years ago, the UN had already predicted that the world’s crises affecting the world are three things: the food crisis, energy crisis, and water crisis,” he said during the Working Meeting of the Government Members of the Red and White Cabinet at the Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
“Food, energy, and water have already been projected by the UN, and I have been fighting for this everywhere, for years, for decades, and I prove that I—if I’m not mistaken, has it already been distributed to the officials or not, my books over these decades, this is proof that for dozens of years it’s written in black and white that the basic problems for the nation are those three things,” he explained.
“Food, energy, and water, alhamdulillah, our country doesn’t actually have a water problem. The problem is sometimes we have an excess of water. We laugh about having excess water, this is a blessing; one day of rain in Bogor is equal to one year of rain in Western Australia,” he said.
“Such blessings we receive from the Almighty in certain parts of our country; in certain islands in Eastern Indonesia, there are still water difficulties, but we can overcome them because the water is there. It’s just a matter of being able to get it and maintain it, because sometimes we ourselves cannot maintain our nature, we clear our forests, we cut down trees on our mountains, as a result water cannot be retained, leading to drought, but these things we can overcome,” he explained.
“There are countries rich in oil and gas but without water; what I want to convey is that these things are so important, so fundamental, and these things have been underlined by our nation’s founders; in the 1945 Constitution, it is clearly stated that the land and water and all wealth must be controlled by the state because it determines the life of the nation,” he said.
“So brothers and sisters, what we are experiencing now, the crises that are happening in the Middle East, which are causing energy prices to soar, actually we must be convinced and we must be grateful that our nation’s condition is in a far better position than other nations,” he stated.
“I have studied the data, the figures, and on this occasion, I think it’s a good opportunity where after I studied the figures, received reports from my ministers, it turns out our condition is quite safe. There are challenges, there are difficulties, but we are able to face and overcome them,” he added.
