Before SPPG Heads, Prabowo Declares: I Will Not Allow People's Money to be Stolen, No Exceptions!

Bogor – President Prabowo Subianto has asserted his commitment to maintaining the integrity and success of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme by ensuring there is no room for deviations or the abuse of trust in its implementation. The Head of State made this declaration while attending the ‘Building Indonesia’s Future Generations Through Nutrition’ event held at the Sentul International Convention Centre (SICC), Bogor Regency, West Java, on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.

Addressing thousands of participants, including the Indonesia Development Drivers (SPPI), MBG kitchen managers, and programme partners, President Prabowo revealed that the decision to replace several parties previously entrusted with the programme’s execution was not an easy one. The President noted that he recalled the advice of his late father, Prof. Sumitro Djojohadikusumo, who always reminded him to side with the people when faced with uncertainty in decision-making.

“If one day you find yourself confused or hesitant, remember: always side with your people,” Prabowo stated.

The President explained that these decisions were made after receiving various reports regarding deficiencies, irregularities, and indications of embezzlement in the programme’s implementation. According to the President, the quality of leadership is the determining factor in an organisation’s success.

“A good leader makes a good organisation. A bad leader makes a bad organisation. Especially if the leader is dishonest, incompetent, or lacks integrity,” he emphasised.

During the event, President Prabowo highlighted the vital role of the SPPI as the frontline for the MBG programme’s success. He noted that SPPI graduates have been specifically prepared to lead and manage MBG kitchens across Indonesia, prioritising values of service, integrity, and patriotism.

“We have educated, recruited, and trained you, instilling values of patriotism and devotion to the nation and state, and tasked you with leading and managing these kitchens,” he said.

The Head of State emphasised that the state will not hesitate to take decisive action against anyone attempting to abuse the people’s trust. Prabowo further stated his readiness to strengthen the capacity of supervisory institutions and law enforcement agencies to ensure the programme achieves its intended goals.
