Before Rectors and Academics, Prabowo Pledges to Act on Every Proposal
At the closing of the National Gathering of the Science, Technology and Industry Convention, President Prabowo Subianto confirmed he had received a list of proposals and questions. He also pledged that every proposal would be studied and followed up as part of efforts to improve governance. “I have received the list of proposals and questions that were submitted, quite a lot of them. I promise I will pay attention to each one,” Prabowo said. On the occasion, he also touched on the key to becoming a successful country. According to him, a successful nation is not one that manages to avoid problems, but rather one that has the courage to face and resolve every challenge. He also described a culture open to criticism as important, as well as input and seeking solutions together. Difficulties that arise must be faced with courage, and the government also needs to acknowledge its deficiencies and strive to find a way out. “Because I believe that difficulties must be faced. Difficulties must be faced, and we must be brave enough to face difficulties, brave enough to acknowledge difficulties, and work hard to find solutions to those difficulties,” he said. Prabowo stated that the views he holds were obtained from various inputs received over time. He reiterated that a successful organisation or country is one that can honestly recognise problems and take steps to overcome them. “I got this from a lot of input. Successful organisations, societies, and countries are those that dare to know, seek out difficulties and shortcomings, and then overcome them,” he said. The National Gathering of the Science, Technology and Industry Convention was held at the Jakarta Convention Center. A total of 2,600 participants attended the event, consisting of rectors and academics.
