BeeFam Develops Trigona Honey Business in West Jakarta through BRI's LinkUMKM
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Bee Family Healthy or BeeFam is a Trigona honey business in West Jakarta established in 2018, offering Trigona honey and Trigona bee pollen as its most popular products.
BeeFam founder Risky explained that the business began from his experience as a disaster volunteer during the 2018 Lombok earthquake, which introduced him to the benefits of Trigona honey in emergency situations. This experience motivated him to seriously pursue Trigona bee cultivation.
“In 2018, during the Lombok earthquake, I was involved as a volunteer helping survivors in Lombok. Amid the emergency conditions, with limited food and medicine, many people had to survive with whatever was available in the surrounding environment. At that time, I witnessed something very valuable: honey from Trigona bees became one of the natural energy sources that helped survivors endure. The honey was used to maintain stamina, aid body recovery, and serve as an alternative source of nutrition when access to food was extremely limited,” he said.
BeeFam’s products are marketed through offline channels/stores, resellers, marketplaces, social commerce, B2B, as well as exhibitions and events, with buyers ranging from local markets to inter-city and inter-island.
Risky stated that BeeFam utilises LinkUMKM BRI as a platform for learning while expanding networks with UMKM actors in various regions. The opportunity to connect with other business actors and access learning has helped BeeFam strengthen its steps in developing the Trigona honey business.
“BeeFam first learned about LinkUMKM BRI through information on digital media and UMKM communities that often share business development programmes from Bank Rakyat Indonesia. At that time, I was looking for a learning platform that could help develop the Trigona honey business I was starting. Upon learning more, I saw that LinkUMKM BRI provides a lot of educational materials, training, and opportunities to connect with other UMKM actors across Indonesia. This made me interested in joining and being active, because BeeFam wants to continue learning, growing, and expanding business networks to bring greater benefits to society and the environment,” he revealed.
In daily business operations, BeeFam uses BRI services such as BRI QRIS, transaction services, financing, and savings to support and manage the business. The use of cashless payments helps make transactions faster and more practical, while also supporting income recording for more orderly business management.
By the end of 2025, LinkUMKM has been utilised by more than 14.98 million UMKM actors as an online business mentoring platform, from capacity building to strengthening market access. The platform features six main integrated features, namely UMKM Smart, Rumah BUMN, UMKM Media, Community, Digital Showcase, and NIB Registration, supported by more than 750 learning modules to strengthen the soft and hard skills of business actors.
BRI Micro Director Akhmad Purwakajaya stated that strengthening UMKM, including BeeFam, needs to be carried out through relevant learning so that business actors can increase capacity and expand markets gradually. Within the LinkUMKM ecosystem, BRI expands access to learning and mentoring so that UMKM are better prepared to develop business strategies across various channels, including digital channels.
