Beef Prices on 19 March 2026 in Palembang Reach Rp180,000/Kg

Beef prices in several traditional markets in Palembang, South Sumatra, on 19 March 2026, ahead of Eid, have reached Rp180,000 per kilogram. Previously, the price was Rp140,000.

Tika, a beef trader at Pasar 7 Ulu in Palembang, stated that the price has risen since H-7 before Eid due to increased buyer interest.

“On H-2 of Eid al-Fitr this year, the beef price reached Rp180,000/kg,” said Tika.

In fact, on 18 March 2026, the beef price was still at Rp170,000/kg. However, it rose today.

Meanwhile, Gani, a beef trader at the Jakabaring Main Market, explained that prices there are cheaper than in other traditional markets in Palembang, at Rp170,000 to Rp175,000/kg.

He explained that the rise in beef prices is due to high pricing from agents at the slaughterhouses.

“This morning alone, the cut beef sold has reached around 40-50 kilograms,” he said.

Indah, a resident buying beef, admitted that she continues to shop to meet Eid al-Fitr needs despite the price increase. (Ant/H-4)
