The Bekasi Regency Government has recorded a significant achievement in the digital transformation of public services. The locally developed Bebunge application successfully served as the primary platform for the 2026/2027 Junior High School (SMP) New Student Admission System (SPMB), processing 50,702 prospective students in its third year of operation. Unlike other regions that still rely on websites or semi-manual administration, Bebunge integrates the entire admission process into a single mobile application available on Android and iOS. Head of the Communication, Informatics, Coding, and Statistics Agency (Diskominfosantik) of Bekasi Regency, Yan Yan Akhmad Kurnia, stated that the success reflects the local government’s commitment to providing fast, easy, transparent, and accountable public services. Head of Information and Communication Technology, Bahrul Ulum, noted that the system remained stable while handling tens of thousands of simultaneous transactions. Through a monitoring dashboard, the government could oversee the entire process, from document verification to final admission results. Of the total applicants, 20,132 documents were verified, with 10,948 students accepted and 9,813 not accepted, while 8,362 applicants were rejected for failing to meet administrative requirements. Bahrul asserted that Bebunge’s quality now rivals national-scale digital applications in terms of system stability, data security, and real-time processing capability.
