Beattie fit for Suzuka

BRISBANE, Australia (AFP): Australian motorcycle racer Daryl
Beattie yesterday confirmed he will take part in this month's
500cc Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.

The 25-year-old Suzuki rider, who won the Japanese round of
last year's world championship, suffered head and neck injuries
in a pre-season testing crash three weeks ago and missed the
opening two rounds of this year's series in Malaysia and in
Indonesia.

"I had a heavy knock on the head from the crash, but I'm fully
recovered now and I'll definitely be racing in Japan on April
21," Beattie said.
