Don't use a broker
for processing STNK

With reference to the letter from J. Surjo Sumirat from
Tangerang (published in Kompas, July 18), in which he complained
about his motor vehicle being regarded as "stolen goods" when he
processed the police license document (STNK), we provide the
following clarification:

After studying the STNK extension and checking the process
thoroughly, it was discovered that the extension was handled by a
broker.

There was already a mutual agreement in place that for the
correction of a previous technical error made by the police,
regional revenue office and Jasa Raharja insurance, full
assistance would be given free of charge, according to normal
procedures.

Therefore, taxpayers processing STNKs for their motor vehicles
should not use the service of brokers in order to avoid a
recurrence of this kind of incident.
