Jakarta – BDO Indonesia, one of the world’s largest networks of public accounting, tax, and advisory firms, has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the West Java Provincial Government in a ceremony held at the West Java Governor’s Office, Gedung Sate, Bandung.
The signing of this MoU marks an important milestone in strengthening synergy between the public and private sectors to drive the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and enhance investment ease and attractiveness in West Java Province.
The event was attended by Dedi Mulyadi, Governor of West Java; Helmi Yahya, Head of the Rebana Management Agency (BP Rebana); Thano Tanubrata, CEO of BDO Indonesia; and representatives of the West Java provincial government and local stakeholders. The presence of these leaders affirms shared commitment in driving region-wide economic transformation based on sound governance and sustainability principles.
Through this cooperation, BDO Indonesia will serve as a strategic partner in ESG matters for the West Java Regional Government and companies operating in this region, particularly those operating in the Rebana Metropolitan Area. This role encompasses support in ESG capacity building, ESG strategy, and corporate governance strengthening.
Additionally, BDO Indonesia will serve as a strategic partner in supporting West Java Province’s initiative to become an excellent and investor-friendly investment destination for foreign investors planning to invest in this region. Such support will be provided to ensure the investment process runs more effectively and in accordance with global standards.
On this occasion, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi stated on Thursday (26 February), “The Rebana Area, which covers Cirebon, Subang, Majalengka, and Kuningan, is the most strategic region because it is integrated with major infrastructure such as the Cisumdawu Toll Road, Cipali Toll Road, and Patimban Port. Our vision is to realise a new industrial growth centre that brings prosperity to the people of West Java through the principle of mutual symbiosis, where industry develops rapidly whilst environmental sustainability is maintained. The spirit of Silih Asah, Silih Asih, Silih Asuh is the fundamental foundation in building West Java’s future.”
Meanwhile, Helmi Yahya, Head of BP Rebana, emphasised the importance of global collaboration in attracting quality investment. “Strategic collaboration with BDO Indonesia’s Advisory team, as one of the world’s ‘Big Five’ consulting firms, is a key step in attracting global investment, not only to the Rebana area, but for the advancement of all West Java. With an extensive network covering more than 100 countries, BDO’s presence will educate us in effectively attracting international investors and support the strengthening of ESG aspects. This partnership ensures Rebana develops as a sustainable, competitive economic corridor with world-class credibility standards.”
Regarding this cooperation, Thano Tanubrata, CEO of BDO Indonesia, expressed his hopes for the collaboration. “BDO Indonesia is very optimistic about becoming a strategic partner in this project. We are supported by an experienced professional team with strong capabilities in ESG, governance, and investment advisory, and we are part of the BDO International global network. With the support of this network, we are ready to deliver international standards and global best practices at every stage of this project’s implementation. We also offer one-stop services such as audit, tax, legal, and various other advisory services to support companies comprehensively if further support is needed in this project.”
This cooperation is expected to strengthen West Java’s position as a leading investment destination in Indonesia, whilst driving inclusive and sustainable economic growth. The Rebana Metropolitan Area itself is projected to become one of the new economic growth centres in West Java, so the integration of ESG practices and investment ease become key factors in attracting domestic and international investors.
As a professional services firm with a global network, BDO Indonesia is committed to delivering integrated solutions that support sustainable regional development. This collaboration reflects aligned vision in building a competitive, transparent, and long-term-oriented business ecosystem.
This cooperation also confirms BDO Indonesia’s role in supporting the regional economic transformation agenda through a strategic approach that prioritises sound governance and sustainability principles.
