The first step towards the world of work begins with real industry experience. This commitment continues to be realised by the BSI Career Center (BCC) of Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) Pontianak campus, known as the Creative Digital Campus.

This is achieved by facilitating the placement of Information Systems Study Programme students to undertake Field Work Practice (PKL) or internships at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Pontianak Branch Office.

The PKL programme officially commenced on 3 August 2026 and will run until 30 October 2026. Five UBSI Pontianak campus students are participating in this internship programme, namely Marsanda, Gia Andara, Angela Sudarni, Ni Nyoman Cory Vildina, and Rafil Kalisiano Kalkausar.

Over the course of nearly three months, they will gain direct work experience in a banking environment as preparation before entering the professional world.

Prior to commencing their activities, the students attended an orientation session led by Nunik Nurwahyuni from the Human Resources Department of BRI Pontianak Branch Office.

During the session, the students were provided with an understanding of the company’s work culture, professional ethics, discipline, and the importance of maintaining integrity throughout their work practice.

According to Nunik, the internship programme is part of the company’s contribution to supporting the development of competent human resources while providing students with the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the world of work directly.

She welcomed the presence of UBSI students in the BRI Pontianak Branch Office work environment. She expressed hope that they would make the most of the opportunity to learn directly about the world of work, build a professional attitude, and develop the skills acquired during their studies.

“We also hope that the participants can adapt quickly and make a positive contribution during their work practice,” she said in a statement quoted on Wednesday (5/8/2026).

The BSI Career Center Coordinator of UBSI Pontianak campus, Reza Maulana, expressed appreciation to BRI Pontianak Branch Office for entrusting UBSI students with the opportunity to learn and develop their competencies in a professional work environment.

“We would like to thank BRI Pontianak Branch Office for the trust placed in UBSI students,” said Reza.

The PKL (internship) programme, he added, provides an opportunity for students to implement the knowledge learned in lectures, while also training communication skills, work ethics, and adaptation in a professional environment, as well as building a portfolio.

He expressed hope that the students would demonstrate their best performance and uphold the good name of their alma mater during the PKL.

Through this programme, BCC UBSI Pontianak campus continues to strengthen collaboration with various industry partners in order to open up more opportunities for students to gain work experience relevant to the needs of the business world.

The synergy between higher education institutions and industry is expected to produce graduates who are not only academically excellent, but also possess experience, competence, and readiness to compete in the world of work.
