BCA's Genera-Z Berbakti Final Concludes, Students Urged to Prepare for Village Realities

The final round of Genera-Z Berbakti 2026, a call-for-proposal programme for university students by Bakti BCA, has concluded. Entertainer and sociopreneur Cinta Laura Kiehl, who served as a panellist, advised participants to be prepared for any situation, both on stage and later in the village. She stressed that each student group must have a unified understanding of their material and the ability to simplify complex ideas so that all audience members can grasp their presentation.

Two teams, from Universitas Indonesia (UI) and Binus University, competed for the opportunity to travel to the Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village in Tomohon. Despite having observed six previous presentations, members from both teams admitted to feeling nervous. Ria, a representative from Binus University’s Tim Aksara, noted that the strong performance by the UI team added to the pressure, but her team remained calm.

Panellist and social entrepreneur Tri Mumpuni emphasised that beyond academic knowledge, students need community competency and resilience. She stated that understanding the real problems of the people and having the sincerity to serve are crucial, as the challenges in the field are often far more complex than those imagined during research.

From the finalists, four teams have been selected to implement their programmes in BCA-assisted tourism villages. The programme aims to connect student creativity with the needs of local communities, with the hope that their ideas will provide tangible contributions. Hera F Haryn, EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility at BCA, expressed confidence that the students have developed mature plans and possess the strong character required to make a real impact.
