BCA Syariah Wins Beyond Profit Islamic Banking Award at ASR 2026
PT Bank BCA Syariah has won the Beyond Profit Islamic Banking Award at the Anugerah Syariah Republika (ASR) 2026. The Anugerah Syariah Republika was held again as part of the Indonesia Sharia Forum 2026 organised by Republika on Wednesday (1/7/2026). BCA Syariah was deemed successful in combining healthy business performance with a commitment to creating social impact. Strong financing growth, sound risk management, and contributions to community empowerment made BCA Syariah worthy of receiving the Beyond Profit Islamic Banking Award. ASR 2026 carried the theme ‘Sharia for All: Beyond Profit, Toward Purpose’, which emphasises the importance of the Islamic economy delivering benefits to society while also driving business growth. Republika Editor-in-Chief Andi Muhyiddin said the theme was chosen to affirm that sharia principles prioritise a balance between business success, social responsibility, sustainability, and public welfare. ‘Anugerah Syariah Republika is a form of appreciation for the movers who have proven that the Islamic economy can deliver real benefits to society and the national economy,’ Andi said in Jakarta, as quoted on Thursday (2/7/2026). He conveyed that through ASR, Republika aims to give appreciation to institutions and individuals who not only record excellent performance but also present innovation, expand inclusion, and make real contributions to the development of Indonesia’s Islamic economic ecosystem. The ASR 2026 judging process was supported by an Independent Jury Team from Karim Consulting Indonesia. The event also brought back the Reader’s Choice category involving public participation through polling on Republika.co.id and Republika’s social media from 15 May to 15 June 2026. The polling gathered 27,414 votes, an increase compared to the previous year’s event. Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak appreciated Republika’s consistency in overseeing the development of the Islamic economy in Indonesia. According to him, the media has an important role in building tradition while strengthening the national Islamic economic ecosystem. ‘I certainly appreciate the commitment of Republika and the group regarding the Islamic economy. These days Republika consistently oversees Islamic economic practices, building an Islamic economic tradition. I hope Republika continues to provide enlightenment on Islamic economic practices and give appreciation to Islamic economic entities,’ Dahnil said. He assessed that the biggest challenge for the Islamic economy today is maintaining public trust amidst the emergence of various deviations in the name of sharia. Therefore, industry players need to prioritise sharia moral values in every business practice. Republika hopes that Anugerah Syariah Republika 2026 will be an encouragement for all stakeholders to continue presenting innovation, expanding inclusion, and strengthening the Islamic economic ecosystem that provides real benefits to society. In line with the theme ‘Sharia for All: Beyond Profit, Toward Purpose’, the Islamic economy is expected to continue developing as a system that brings blessings, justice, and inclusive prosperity for all levels of society.
